Storage
128 GB, 256 GB or 1 TB versions differ in value.
Battery health
Settings → Battery → Battery Health. Below 80% lowers the value, but is not a blocker.
Screen
Scratches, cracks, spots. iOS often shows whether a replaced display is genuine (Parts and Service History).
Face ID and True Tone
Non-working Face ID has a big impact because the repair is complex.
Cameras and frame
Cracked lens glass, focusing noise, bent frame or dented corners.

What to send for a valuation
- Model and storage.
- Battery health percentage — a screenshot is fine.
- Front and back photos with the screen on.
- Close-ups of damage.
- Whether Face ID, cameras, microphone and charging work.
- Any repairs and replaced parts.
Before selling: Find My and iCloud
While Find My iPhone is on, Activation Lock protects the phone — nobody else can use it even after a reset.
- Back up to iCloud or a computer.
- Settings → [your name] → Find My → turn off Find My iPhone.
- Sign out of your Apple ID.
- Settings → General → Transfer or Reset → Erase All Content and Settings.
- Remove the SIM card.
